There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

We've discussed grosser things. Possibly even this month. But not many.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm on the side of not so gross, like when it's better to leave maggots to eat the flesh in your rotting wound so the infection doesn't spread. It's sort of healthy, when the other option is spreading rot?

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

My mom's kinda micro-managing what I'm going to wear to the funeral. She said she's happy to spring for a new outfit and shoes but I'm here without a car and my knee is still blown out so I can't bike very far. Situations like this instantly illustrate the difference between Berkeley and South Pasadena - even without a car, I could get to any number of malls, quality fabric stores, etc. A 5 block walk to BART or a bike ride within 5 mi of my house would do it. No such luck here (If I were as svelte as I was up to my mid-30s I might have a little more luck. There are one or two boutiques in a 5 mi. radius of here but nothing plus-sized and good.)

I don't want my mom to buy clothes/shoes for me anyway. So this am I went out to the garage to sort through my sewing-related moving boxes. I had not even moved a box yet when I somehow managed to pull a muscle between my spine and scapula. Possibly by sneezing. I know it could be worse, but between the RSI, the blown-out knees (the other is going because of having to pick up slack), the back problems, etc, I'm really wishing I had a body that worked half-decently. I eat pretty healthy, I exercise, what's the deal?

Found the pattern I had in mind. Didn't find enough stash fabric in a good color/weight so I'd need to go fabric shopping. No car. The nearest Jo-Ann's is a disaster. I think I'm going to rest all the hurting parts. I've got a black silk chiffon skirt and a burgundy blouse that should be good enough for the funeral. It's not super-formal, but it's not a big faux pas, either.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

and I'll remind everyone here that it was I who was anti

Who was pro? Me?

And, uh, it's only slightly weird that I can't remember my position on the issue. I mean, I'm not personally pro. Just, YKINKMV, and all that. Consenting corpses, and what have you.

Because books.

I just skimmed, and I'm confused and skeeved. Someone's dog is eating him piece by piece?!

Also, I'm not even sure I could let those fish nibble my feet. ::shudders::

I saw our new house last night! It's still in the renovation stages, but it's going to be awesome. I can't believe we're actually moving, to somewhere we *want* to be this time.

I'm feeling a msbelle moment of shopping for shower curtains and rugs and curtains coming on.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm on the side of not so gross, like when it's better to leave maggots to eat the flesh in your rotting wound so the infection doesn't spread. It's sort of healthy, when the other option is spreading rot?

Yes! Exactly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

At least Fido isn't munching on placentas.

Bothers me so much less, assuming the placenta is no longer attached.

a) I don't want my dogs eating anything still attached to me.
b) I don't want my dogs eating my limbs
c) I don't want my dogs eating stuff that's rotting (because I'm a softie that way)

I'm not even sure I could let those fish nibble my feet. ::shudders::

I have a spot on my back that fish like to nibble. I don't know what's up with that. It tickles.
