Yes. Target donated $150,000 (100 in cash, the rest "in-kind"), and Best Buy donated $100,000 to the same PAC.

Nora, is there any way you can arrange for your townhouse to be moved to the Chicago 'burbs? Because I want to live there!!! What a gorgeous place (I'm lusting after those hardwood floors).
Barb, I looked at the cover--yay, you!--and at least it doesn't follow in the mode of decapitated female or otherwise had the body chopped off on the cover.
Thanks, Connie! I love that cover like BURNING, I swear. And every time I walk into the bookstore, I'm prowling the YA shelves and trying to gauge how well it'll stand out amongst all the other covers and right now, it seems as if it's going to be really be an eye-catcher, which I'm really hoping will prompt booksellers to put it face-out at the very least, since I'm not counting on co-op money for table placement. (I'm not a lead title, so...)
Hopefully, too, the book contained within is actually, yanno, GOOD, and will get decent reviews.
I'm going to have a nervous breakdown before November, but hopefully, it'll be worth it.
Teppy, peace to Tim's Mom's memory. Strength to you, Tim and the rest of Tim's family.
Barb, forgot to reiterate that I adore that cover and can't wait for the book to come out.
I still want to get FLYUFLZ for my car.
Ahahaha awesome.

You know there's a really fine condo for sale in Chicago, right?
All the Chicago cool condos/townhouses are in the city. I want a nice one in the 'burbs because that's where I'm working. Of course, I won't be able to afford to buy anything for at least a decade, so I'm just talking outta my ass here.
I got the idea for FLYUFLZ when I was driving behind a Jeep with ARAGORN on the plate and a plate-holder that said "There And Back Again."

Over at Submitterator, TinChicken shares this family photo from the December 91/Jan 92 issue of Threads, a magazine "for people who love to sew." Ah, where to begin...
Some of the comments are funny:
Ten bucks says that pie is made from the kidneys of a young couple whose car broke down along a remote country road.

That is super creepy and I can only hope some horror director right clicked it for future use.
YIKES.
