"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Food, NSM.

Oh she'll go for french fries. Which we did. Donuts did not happen.

After that, we hopped on the N-Judah, rode through the tunnel and got out at Dog Park (aka, Duboce Park). Where we played at the playground rather briefly, and then played with the dogs (and admittedly, the dog fountain) for an extended stretch.

Dogs met: Zoe, the French bulldog (b/w, very sweet), Ruffles the big black mutt, Rudy the Rhodesian Ridgeback who was very happy to play with Ferdinand the Staffordshire Terrier. Both big dogs doing the big dog roughhousing thing, but totally mellow at the dog fountain where Matilda took care of them; also Pablo the Corgi and Star the Pomeranian.

We mostly petted Zoe, though as she was quite content to have her butt rubbed. Matilda was taken with her little pink bow (which matched the pink streak in her owners hair).

There was also a lot of climbing on the dog fence.

On the train back, Matilda stared openly at the tall slender dancer type with long, curly red hair. The dancer chatted with her but Matilda was too awestruck to do much until we got off the bus and then speculated about the "pretty red haired lady's" husband.

Three hour outing. Now I'm hoping she conks down for a nap.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have to say, while the flavor of this beet-cucumber soup is fine, if delicate, I LOVE eating hot pink soup!!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'd take a nap after that.

What I just said to the dog. Out loud and in public:

"Do not choke on this, because if I have to Heimlich you you will freak right the fuck out."

I'm not sure how much of that she got. But no choking!

ION, now that I've sunk all my money into car, it appears that BOTH dog and I have major dental surgery in our near future. Fuckity.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Ugh. Six kids drown in the river in my hometown. One fell in, the six went in to help. The first kid is the only survivor.

Holy shit, Daisy. That's awful.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

The whole city is pretty shaken over it. It's grown a lot, but it still feels pretty small [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I saw that on the news this morning. They couldn't swim. Yet they were in the river. Which apparently drops off from 3 feet to 28 feet in a hurry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Gah! People! Stay away from the deep water if you can't swim! By which I don't (entirely) mean the putative rescuers--you risk your life for someone in jeopardy. Just...as recreation that's awfully dangerous.

Completely tritely, who's good chain pizza? Papa John's? Domino's? Pizza Hut? Migraine has me pretty unhungry, so it's hard to choose subjectively, but I really should have some easy food around. I used to just order PJ because they had the simplest online system, but that's probably moot now.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, God, how heartbreaking. I can't imagine the horror and grief those families, and the lone survivor, are going through.

As always, DON'T READ THE COMMENTS. Or, if you do, maybe you'll join me in taking up a collection to fly ita around the country to cockpunch some of the commenters.
