Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Your dad sounds awesome, sarameg!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

We're watching Super Why. I think it's time to delete the 20 hours of Yo Gabba Gabba I have on the Tivo.

Have I mentioned I really like Grace's new nurse?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

No, you haven't, Kat, but I am glad.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Cash, my sympathies. I've been there before.

Vortex - YOU ROCK!!!

Did she like them? I can make changes if need be.

Have I mentioned I really like Grace's new nurse?

Is that the guy, Kat?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well done, Prof. Emeritusimeg!

Erin, you cleaned that shit up. Also, your lamp looks like a perfectly buffed and shiny butt.

ION, humanity continues to depress me as I saw the current cover of Newsweek (or Time?) that has a portrait of a young girl whose face was mutilated by the Taliban after she ran away from her abusive in-laws.

In specific: They cut off her nose and ears.

I don't know why this instance of human cruelty makes me want to stabbinate so many people (though, that's obviously the intent and provocation of the cover choice). But it definitely stirs a savage vengeful impulse. Plus, sadness. A bit of sick at the stomach and I can't shake the image.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think it's partly because she's so beautiful. It's the (literal) human face thing -- I think hearing about atrocities in bulk makes them easier not to think about.

In better news about humanity, yay for a good nurse, Kat! Yay for your awesome dad, Sara!

I guess that's part of it. You can't help but notice that aspect as well.

Kat, very good news!

As much as my parents have quirks that make me INSANE, they are really truly awesome people, personally and professionally.
