Wash: I didn't think you were one for rituals and such. Mal: I'm not, but it'll keep the others busy for a while. No reason to concern them with what's to be done.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just managed to give myself a nose bleed.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, Erin, I need to be you for today! I seriously seriously need to do that to my office. And the time is now, before school starts back up. Plus I have all this back work from the summer travel, and I want to do that, but if I just sit on top of the heap of junk that is my office and do it, then I'll never get anywhere. I will be much better off and happier if I just do the huge clean all the things reorg now.

ION! I have tadpoles in my tiny garden pond! TADPOLES, people! I live in Arizona! But this has been a serious monsoon and there are a ton of little swimmys in the pond. I don't think they'll survive, so I've been desperately reading tadpole rearing info. Looks like some of our romaine will be getting frozen into ice cube trays and used as tadpole food!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

mac had a new friend to play with almost all day and I sat and worked on the computer, went to family counseling, and bought groceries. All I want to do now is get some things ready for errands tomorrow (mail off things to do with selling co-op) and chill. He wants to play with me or watch his tv non-stop. so better than fighting, but sigh.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Thank you for the congratulations, all, and congratulations in turn for all the other anniversary couples.

For our anniversary, Aims will pop a percocet and pass out trying to get over this sinus/ear thing.

Kat, that was a very Lake Woebegone response from your dad.

Liese, you might be surprised. During monsoon in LC, we'd get toad tadpoles in every single body of water. They've got a really fast life cycles. Plus, I think some burrow really deep during the season, in dry spells between storms. They have to, since every storm would bring this incredible cacophony of toads looking to get it on.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Regarding the TiVo(and it is a TiVo, not a Comcast DVR), there has been a recurring problem where it records the wrong channel. We thought we had fixed it by putting a doodad on the input cable that had been forgotten when we reconfigured things after the digital converter box got set up. Apparantly, that wasn't it. I have set it to record a repeat of the ep later this week, but it's very annoying.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

So cool to spot tadpoles!

Even though my parents' backyard is kind of a typical suburban lawnscape devoid of much biodiversity, I saw a praying mantis this morning and it was so cool!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Dear My Cousin:

Telling your family your wedding date less than two months out? Suboptimal. Especially when you're expecting your 91 year old grandmother to be there.

Edit: Actually, the timing just gives grandmother plenty of time to be in a tizzy. It does mean that other people might have conflicts, though.
