Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

You know what sucks as bad as Ally Sheedy's Breakfast Club sandwich? Developers who decide to call it a day before I've finished reviewing content for tomorrows release, but cannot do until they fix the things that are wrong, and I've checked it in preview. No one else from my team is here, so it looks like I will be waiting on Dev to answer me-which may be at 7 or never. Grrrrrr! BAD DEVELOPERS!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Anniversary to the Miracleborns, to Scrappy and her DH and to Sox and her DH!(I agree that August anniversaries rock!)

In annoying First World Problems, our TiVo did not record Leverage last night. I got an hour of a screen saying "This service is not available", which makes no sense...I don't know if the problem is the TiVo or the cable.(We have ComCrap, er ComCast)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

There was some talk in Cable Drama of Comcast being funky about the listings last night.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh my god, Kathy, that's so sad.

Yay! Boss lady was actually here and gave me guidance. (She is often in meetings and not at her desk, which makes it hard to know whether she's left or not. One way she said I could tell would be that her water bottle would be gone. She had actually taken it with her to this meeting).

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My Comcast dvr was definitely getting funky last night--I was watching a Criminal Minds episode while recording it, and then halfway through the episode, the recording just froze up and ended, even though the listing on the menu said that all 60 minutes had recorded. I ended up deleting it and recording the rebroadcast a few hours later.

Our Comcast listings had Leverage at midnight instead of 9, but it recorded fine at 12.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Mine recorded fine at midnight as well. I told it to record "the wrong show" at 9 and it, indeed as Tim Hutton's tweet promised, was Leverage.

Oddly, it was last week's Leverage that my Comcast dvr totally failed to record. Bastard.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

So it's 100 degrees here, and I decided today was the day I rip the home office/guest room apart and deep clean, move stuff around and reorganize EVERYTHING in it: cabinets, drawers, wires, all of it.

I have been working on it for 4 hours, and I am DISGUSTING with sitcky sweat, with dirt and cat hair sticking to me. I want a shower soooo bad, but I still have about two hours worth of work left, and I will just need another shower when I am done.

However, I already have so much more room. I have repurposed my grandmother's cabinet sewing machine as a writing desk, with an old flat narrow drawer fitting neatly over the hole where the sewing machine would flip out of.

I also lined the old, catclawed raffia bulletin board on the bunk bed, where there is a pull out shelf I use for my laptop, with rather nice cream handmade paper that I found in the ex's crap, and now it is all neat and cute.

Hung the white board, velcroed the long extension cord all my computer stuff is plugged into over the closet and along the kickboard, instead of having it all strung out across the floor.

Now, for some major tweaks in all the organizing of the drawers and desktop stuff, and a final sweep and I am done. I wish I'd taken before pictures, because the after is going to be so, SO much better.
