free tickets to the Huntington Garden
I remember quite fondly the month I spent at the Huntington as part of the process of digitzing their card catalog. Hour lunch breaks every day that involved walking through the rose garden to the lunch tables, talking to the retired USO dancer who always wore purple and told tales of WWII and her research into women's history, and most especially the day when my machine broke down and the tech wouldn't be there till the next day, so I had the whole day free to wander the galleries. I found myself in the Medieval/Renaissance wing, discussing the iconography of the various icons with one of the bored guards, then explaining the techniques of the weavings of the tapestry (yay, SCA experience). I turned around to find a school group listening to my "lecture". And taking notes. Apparently the temp "Huntington Staff" badge leant me street cred.

What Burrell said.
Also, why am I awake at 2:51 with enough energy that I want to clean all the things! Grrrr.
Skipping-sigh-yet-again because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Aims and miracleman's anniversary.
Happy anniversary, Aims! Happy anniversary, MM! With lots of wishes for a great day and another great year together!
Happy anniversary!
Kat, I hope things go OK for your dad. "Your poor mom" is right -- I think that about my own mother all the time. When I'm not wanting to kill her...
Happy anniversary, Aims & Joe!
I am back at my desk after more than two weeks of vacation and I didn't know where to start digging in, and then I saw that Perkins needed a little help with something, so I ignored all the professors and the dean and sent her what she needed. Priorities!
IOW: Perkins, insent!
