Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I just discovered Overheard in the Newsroom. If I have any deadlines today, they are screwed. Oh, I actually miss newsrooms some days. And today is one. I've burst out laughing more than a few times.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

How's your mom doing, Matt?

A little bit better every day, with sleep and appetite improving. I'm letting her set her own pace as far as activity goes, since she feels better at the end of the day after mild exercise and exertion. But I imagine I'll be staying with the folks through next week to make sure she's strong enough before letting her do stuff like get my dad in and out of bed on her own.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My son is currently singing at the top of his lungs (to the tune of the Super Why theme song) "HE'S GOT THE POWER, THE POWER TO POOP! HE POOPS INTO POOPS FOR THE POOPS THAT WE POOP, SUPER POOP!" and so on.

I am so looking forward to spending 20 hours in a car with this child. For realsies.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I am beat. It was soooo hot all day for the garage sale. We had a fan and sat on the porch for much of it, but still just sodden and nasty with rolling sweat. UGH.

Not a lot of traffic, but I made almost $50 today. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring more people; we had rain at 8 this morning, so I think that may have kept some of the early birds away.

If I don't sell the TV, DVD and CD player with an iPod dock, I think I will Craigslist them, see what I can get.

This made us all crack up. Must be three, huh?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Glad your mom is on the mend, Matt.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Was it just me, or has this week been really really really long?

Exhaustingly so.

For the car trip, I've just downloaded fifteen kabillion free iPhone kids' games and a season each of Dinosaur Train, Super Why, and Spongebob, to be loaded onto my old phone. Earlier today I stopped at the .99 store and cleaned out their coloring book section. Tomorrow we're loading up on snacks at TJs. I am Prepared Mom!
