I have to report that today is also a nasty headache day.
Ugh.
And no one will sit still so I can talk to them about status and stuff,
Ugh.
and I have a status report to fill out.
Ugh! At least it's Friday?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

no big bargains yet at garage sales, but I did get Acquire, Pictionary Junior, and some kid's card game. Also a garage push broom. We have a few more to hit. then maybe I'll go to try and find some thrift store jeans for mac as back-to-school clothes.
I often feel the need to tell you what day it is. Especially if I woke up and didn't know, myself.
I just know that if I'm talking with you, I have to get to work. Then I'll figure out what day it is.
Feh on people, ita, and your headache.
flea, that's great!
Trudy, did I miss something? What's up?
I mentioned it a little in the wee hours a week or so ago. My Aunt B lives in Florida and her cancer has now metastasized to her liver. My Uncle J is bringing her up to NYC for treatment at Sloan-Kettering.
Aunt B's Mother R lives with them and has alzheimers. Putting her in care for however long would surely cause her to loose ground so my unemployed butt is going to go down and look after her while they are gone.
Since Dallas is too old to fly really I will be driving. ::gulp:: It's a bit of a long-haul for one person, but most of the driving I do is road trips so I'm not really all that concerned.
Amusingly, my Uncle J (who, not counting Yankee Stadium, has probably been to NYC a dozen times in his life in spite of living within in 35 miles of it for 50 years) will be actually living here part-time while she is in treatment. I'm leaving him copious information: take out menus, car service cards, drop-off laundry addresses in hopes he will survive the ordeal :)
The reason I don't know how long I'll be gone is we don't know what the protocols are going to be until they do them. If they're back and forth for a few months I'll likely stay down there.
The whole thing is a little daunting. I've gotten past "how fucking ephemeral is my life that I can just DROP IT for an unknown amount of time" and moved on to "my life is wherever I am and whatever I'm doing."
But I'm still not fucking packed.
Power outage!
Power innage!
Right! Duh! B/c I offered you and Dallas a place to stay. Offer still stands. Do you have a departure date, yet?
I use a regular ol' alarm clock. Of course, my goal is to wake up before it goes off so I don't have to hear it.
So I realize that I'm new to the world of phone apps, but I just fell in love with Pandora. It brings me music!
We've been having serious net slowdowns here at work last week, and they decided to finally get their first blocked website--Pandora. Guess too many people were using it for the daily music while at work. They're also monitoring YouTube usage.
It brings me music!
And it brings new music!
I'd never hear new music otherwise. But it doesn't bring the scary new music--my Prince channel is pretty much stuff I've already heard before (and, uh, own). My Kansas channel is stuff that probably showed up on SPN. My Miles channel is stuff I really should have been listening to all this time, dammit, I just don't know what's good for me.
I have two alarms name Clio and Oz that generally wake me up 30-60 minutes before I need to get up. Then there's the actual alarm clock, which goes off when I need to get up. I don't turn it off on the weekends. I just hit snooze a kabillion times.
