Are they going to give Bob Costas and whoever their own channel after the Olympics are done so they can talk about trivia and inspirational overcoming-adversity stories of American athletes 24/7 while the actual sports play unnoticed on a background screen behind them?

Natter 65: Speed Limit Enforced by Aircraft
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It's making me not watch things I'd like to watch, those idiot announcers, showing two minutes of sports with 5 minutes of drivel, then lots of commercials.
You know what? I'm going to go home and pop the Berlin IAAF games DVD into the player. My father actually gave me a Christmas present. First time he actually bought me something himself in over 20 years. Usain Bolt footage. Cutest thing ever. It will help get me over these doldrums.
Anybody know anything further about this? [link] I'm having trouble figuring out the logic there.
PARIS - French police are investigating claims that a burger chain serving only halal meat in restaurants with a strong Muslim clientele is discriminating against other customers.
"Why should the people of Roubaix be forced to go to Lille or elsewhere to find bacon?" Franck Berton, the mayor's lawyer, told Reuters.

Orly Taitz, Birther Queen, Makes Appeal To United Nations For Protection, Investigation
I try not to write about every development in the career of Orly Taitz, but I have to make an exception for her appeal to the United Nations for "urgent action under the mandate for human rights defenders." Her attorney, Jonathan Levy, writes that Taitz is under "increasing legal attack in the United States from groups and individuals opposed to her legal actions challenging the Constitutional qualifications of Barrack Hussein Obama to hold the office of President of the United States."
I am in the laundromat. A guy just tried to sell me a flashlight and a car ice scraper.

I never understand how people get these random items they are selling (uness he was selling off his own used items). The other day someone had 15 packages of 'reesies' peanut butter cups and was selling them for nine dollars.
There is a guy who regularly sells cigarettes downtown, but he goes to the reservation to buy them and I understand how he is making a profit. He also sells individual cigarettes, which there seems to be a need for. My convenience store does, too, but they also sell individual bottles from a six pack. The son, who works nights, seems to also have a booming marijuana business, and I can only imagine the repurcussions when his father finds out, because he is a pretty straight laced older man of some eastern european descent. He even turns in or yells at the school kids in his store during the day when they should be at school.
When I worked on the South side of Minneapolis, we'd get people trying to sell stuff all the time. Once my boss bought an office phone from a guy who was going door to door trying to sell it. I discovered that it already had numbers programmed into it, and its serial number had been removed.
