Natter 65: Speed Limit Enforced by Aircraft
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I think there's a difference between the introvert/extrovert spectrum, and the outgoing/shy spectrum. You can be outgoing and introverted, which means you're very talkative but you don't reveal much (if any) real personal info.
Me, I can be outgoing at times, but I remain very introverted.
Can you still count as an extrovert if it's only on your terms? I want to start all the conversations, and sometimes I don't want to start conversations.
I'm totally ita in this.
Another thing I've read is that extroverts gain energy in social situations and introverts lose energy. It's almost like work for an introvert to be social. Many introverts can be social for a while, but then need to leave and recharge. That's me too.
hello from vacation with the family.
I have visited 4 schools and 8 houses. I really like 2 houses, but they are very different, go to different schools and both have pros and cons. I need to hash it out and make an offer on one of them. WAH!
Oh, that ad is beautiful. I have a very inappropriate smirk I'm going to have to work at hiding now.
When other people charge me up, they can do to an insane extent. It's just not a consistent thing. I'm pretty sure me without constant migraines was more generally outgoing. I had certain demands of social outings, and if other people didn't fill the quota of table dancing, I'd do it myself. And once I left theatre/improv peeps, it seemed to be my job.

This is me. There are times when social stuff totally charges me up but, for all intents and purposes, it's a drain. Sometimes a worthwhile drain, but a drain.
Holy crap, msbelle, you're going to buy a house this week??
Deeply awesome Old Spice commercial, via Jezebel: [link]
SO AWESOME. "Two tickets to that thing you like." Hee.

That is my understanding of the difference.
Yeah, even being social with people whose company I enjoy wears me out after a while. It's quiet alone time that gives me energy.
Oh, also? I'm totally making a casserole for the first time in my life! I think it's kind of hilarious, but I realized that's where I was going, when I was stirring the bechamel and boiling the bow-tie pasta.
My coworker found a 20-minute interview with the writers of the ad. Turns out it was one take, no CGI except for the diamonds/container in the hand. Take 57 was what they used. The "shower" set is hoisted by a crane, the shirt that drops down is done with fishing line and has a coat hanger in it to make it stiff, the "boat" is a half a boat set on the beach, and they had this cart contraption that he sits on that wheels him onto the horse.
My appreciation of his ability to keep a straight face has gone way up, and I would *love* to see the outtakes.
