I couldn't even tell you how old I was before I learnt there was a Winter Olympics. Seeing mention of just "Olympics" at this time pf the year still confuses me.

Jamaica has a team! Of one.

Day two of a horrible headache. I braved both Costco and the grocery store this morning, stopped by the dojo to feed CJ between his classes and now I'm DONE.

My house is a mess, I need to reorganize the kitchen to deal with the stuff from Costco but for the moment, I'm just glad I got the bags unpacked and stuff in the fridge/freezer dealt with.

I haven't had a headache this bad since I started taking the amytriptaline (sp?). I wonder if it is my body getting used to (or hating) the synthroid.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Remember how I was trying to reconnect with a former best friend I'd been estranged from since 1999? He didn't write me back for two weeks. I started to remember why we "broke up" -- excessive flakiness. Yesterday I get this message:

Yes!!!!!!!

Not to get all gushy, but OMG have I missed you... It's been a loooooong decade.

!!! This is good news, but so weird that it takes so long for this much enthusiasm. Oh, J. You freak. I guess I'll wait another two weeks to find out when he can get coffee.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We're the US army.

Are we bobsledding again? That was fun the first time. But it's not like I watched then either. Just wore the shirt.

I guess I'll wait another two weeks to find out when he can get coffee.

I'm sure it will be good coffee. I love long-delayed reunions.

Sorry about your headache, Suzi. I'm so glad I have no one to take care of when I get mine. I can't imagine the responsibility.

Luckily CJ is old enough he can take care of himself for the most part. I would have skipped the shopping, but the cupboards were very bare. I figured if I could get that done this morning then I wouldn't HAVE to go anywhere the rest of the weekend if I didn't want to.

No, the team didn't qualify this year. There's one freestyle skier. [link]

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am so glad you guys watched. I kept trying to talk Olympics all day today and my students were all "Hmm?" Had to laugh at the Great One`s bemused malfunction face. Loved the drunken torch pursuit.

I adore kd lang, so I loved her performance. I thought it was the best of the night. I`m always so smitten with her. Her sense of vocal control is so precise it`s astounding to me to compare it with her expressive passionate performance. Also I like her hair.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

too bad you didn't end up here, I 'm thinking of sushi for lunch

I could do that some other weekend though!

Hmm. He makes me wonder if he's competing for us for the reduced qualification pool.

I have such a kd lang girlcrush. My taste in ladies I'd switch teams for (as opposed to ones I just think are pretty) isn't the femmest.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Which makes Kiefer the Nephew of universal health care!

Grandson.

His mother is a great advocate of her father's legacy, and she and Keifer have done cmapaigns and speeches to support universal health care when there's been talk of moving to a two-level system.

Isn't his grandfather the father of universal health care? That makes universal health care his mother's brother/sister/sibling.

Regardless, I'm glad to hear Kiefer is a good grandson and/or nephew of universal health care.
