Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Go team!

I've skipped the last 100+. Spent 7 plus hours shoveling.

Long story shorter: started on the sidewalks, got alerted that my downspout on the back was clogged. Sure enough, I've got mushy plaster upstairs and down, INSIDE parallel to where it runs. Amazingly, I don't go fetal. Cue frantic running of pots of boiling salted water to Brian, who has a ladder to the roof. Cue me going UP on the roof despite vertigo I didn't have before Bhutan. But I cleared around the skylight and good portions of the roof (more to do this weekend.) Then back to the street. We FUCKING CLEARED IT. Car is free. McKewin is free. Cleared alley. All the time, friend Matt is helping and he's from a few blocks over. If he didn't have a fiance who is awesome, both me and my gay neighbor might jump him. Chipped out a fair bit of 3" ice on the downspout from a foot above the deck railing. Still have a lot to go.

Sun goes down, shower, over next door where I get plenty of g&ts, and two gay boys who are a LOT of fun. Home now, uploading the day's photos.

Water damage looks worse in pictures than reality. I need more gay men in my life. But it sucks I meet them when they get a freaking water feature through their dining room fixture in the wee smalls on their birthday.

OK, photos.

You cannot give in! Us women did not give in! (I find it kinda funny that my side of the street is largely populated by single women and gay men homeowners, and it was us out busting our shit today.) Other side includes nurses and teachers, and the teachers were out, the nurses were at work.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Good gracious, sarameg! That ice photo is truly shocking! I mean all those photos are shocking. But sheesh. But you`re doing the best you can and you have awesome neighbors and you will get through this.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I just got home from band practice where our leader announced he is going back home to Indiana in April. We already knew about it and agree that it`s the best thing for him longterm, but it is still sadmaking. It`s been a really good band, one of the best I`ve been in, and I`ve grown as a musician in it. It will continue in some form because the church needs somebody, but it won`t be the same.
