Good gracious, sarameg! That ice photo is truly shocking! I mean all those photos are shocking. But sheesh. But you`re doing the best you can and you have awesome neighbors and you will get through this.

I just got home from band practice where our leader announced he is going back home to Indiana in April. We already knew about it and agree that it`s the best thing for him longterm, but it is still sadmaking. It`s been a really good band, one of the best I`ve been in, and I`ve grown as a musician in it. It will continue in some form because the church needs somebody, but it won`t be the same.
Snow bad. Every street corner here has snow piles taller than me.
What a very long day, sarameg, but more proof that your neighborhood is great.
When we lived in the Chicago area, water started running down our walls from an ice dams in the gutters. My dad was out of town, and my sister and I were toddlers. My mother, born and raised in Nashville, called a neighbor. Mom and Pearl spent hours pouring boiling water in the gutters. Fifty years later, she still tells the story when she talks about what great neighbors we had there.
At one point, I had water boiling on stoves in 3 different houses, only 2 of which had roof access. It was a little insane. Who to burn down/CO poison?
But we managed. And more new friends now! No one believes I'm an introvert now. Still am, in mind, but.... I'm doing a passable example of an extrovert. AND hooking neighborhood peoples up with each other. It's weird.

...romantically? Or just networking style? Speaking of which, are you still crazy about your realtor? Cause my friend who I was staying with (who doesn't live on 33rd but was the one you were emailing with) is strongly considering buying. Though I admit I'm against this plan due to wanting her to move to Seattle.
meara, networking style. I'm being the 'hood connector, which is just freaky. I'm an introvert in my head!
I am still crazy about my realtor! If your friend can cope with perky texan bleach blonde-mother-of-twins and not get judgy, she's magan drane (she's really easy and down to earth and on the ball, but if the other stuff is an issue, I advise to let it go cause she is tooth and nail for her clients. And really a lot of fun.) And hey, openings on my street! Least future short sales (3606 and 3608) and stuff on Ellerslie.
Is it just me, or is this Google ad really cute? [link]
Skipping a bit (this different-timezones-thing never ceases to surprise me, I'm afraid I'm that narrow-minded), because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is PixKristin's birthday.
Happy birthday, Kristin! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
Also, IIRC, you share a birthday with MFNlaw, so lots and lots of wishes for her, as well!
Also also, since tomorrow is shabbat and I don't know when I'm going to have computer time, I'll post already that tomorrow, the 13th, will be Connie neil's birthday, and send lots of early wishes for her, as well.
Short Fridays and lovely weekends to all!
Happy Birthday, Pix!
I have to go to work today (as does Vortex - boo on our universities!). I hope I remember how to get there - it's been awhile. My nanny's street is not plowed out, so the nanny share partners are going to pick her up in their big 4-wheel drive truck.
sara, your neighborhood continues to impress. I've been hitting up all the neighbors around me to watch the baby for an hour while I walk the dog. Fortunately, she does not show any fear of strangers (yet).
My DH is on his way home! He will have a car to dig out at the airport this afternoon, but I hope he'll be home for dinner.
