May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Unless you have severely-soiled, like "crawling-around-in-mud" dirt caked on your clothes, it's quite OK to use half the recommended amount of detergent, which is less harsh to the fabric and will save wear and tear on your clothes, too.

Not putting clothes in the dryer saves *hugely* on wear and tear, too. I pretty much only dry socks, underwear, t-shirts, and gym shorts/yoga pants.

Sparky, that lady is an ass.

We're on for wine and whine at 7:30 tonight. Yay!

omg, wine and whine sounds like the best neighborhood event ever. I really hope that we buy into a neighbory neighborhood. I think it will help that I won't be working for a month or so and plan to try adn do yard stuff in the mornings.

Librarian Warlord

I am getting the last word by saying nothing to her.

I pre-rinse because we don't run the dishwasher every day. I think that the Seventh Generation guy is not washing poopy things when he suggests washing clothes without soap.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, I only started the taking-things-apart approach recently, when my dishes were never getting clean, thinking it was a one-time need. Turns out, it works but doesn't last too long. I could probably avoid it if I was willing to pre-rinse or be more selective about what goes in the dishwasher, but I am more willing to take the thing apart.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think that the Seventh Generation guy is not washing poopy things when he suggests washing clothes without soap.

Seventh Gen isn't good for cloth diapers anyway because of the enzymes & brighteners. (I use soap nuts.)

I want a dishwasher.

Man, a huge gust just blew a shitload off the roof.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

At this point, I probably put half of my things in the dishwasher, and it is still awesome! I wash coffee cups and plates etc. about once a week.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

When we first moved into our apartment, the dishwasher would leave my stuff gritty. I complained and the maintenance guy fixed it. The food trap was apparently full of gunk and simply cleaning that made it all better - haven't had a problem since. But it keeps me pre-rinsing so that I don't clog it and recreate the problem.

I am a little surprised that they are not making a decision about NYPS for tomorrow, yet. Maybe by the 6pm news?
