State is having to import salt via the port. It's also gotten darker recently. I was shocked how bright it was earlier.
I've accidentally run the dishwasher without soap and everything seemed just about as clean.
I have just made the decision to switch back from the green dishwasher detergent because it was requiring too much pre- and post-washing. I can't imagine what it would be like with no detergent at all.
Lisah, I'm vibing for the best outcome possible for Bob.

I thought I was the only one!
I just shoveled another foot of snow off the sidewalk while the baby slept. And a nook for the dog to do what she's got to do.

Consumer Reports had a blurb recently about how you don't need to pre-rinse with dishwashers. Ha! I think both that and failing to use dish soap only works for newer dishwashers.
NWS just changed to predicted totals: 20-30"

I have a pretty new dishwasher--I think it was new when I moved in 3 or 4 years ago. But stuff was coming out with a film on it with the green detergent, and with more crud. Wow. The woman who told me she didn't believe people were paying full price just emailed me again (I didn't answer her last time) to tell me she just re-read my email that she now thinks I don't understand her.
Um, lady? Just pay your nanny.
Unless you have severely-soiled, like "crawling-around-in-mud" dirt caked on your clothes, it's quite OK to use half the recommended amount of detergent, which is less harsh to the fabric and will save wear and tear on your clothes, too.
Sort of why "shampoo, rinse, repeat" is standard advice on shampoo bottles. Not because it gets your hair that much cleaner, but that way you use it twice as fast and buy more.
