When we lived in the 1850 Grecian revival house, it cost us $3000 to heat and power (mostly heat) it from December to March. And we tried hard. EVERY window (all original) was shrink-wrapped and the thermostat was kept at 65 durung the day and 58 at night and we each had about 7 billion blankets on our bed.
Our electric/gas here runs about $200 in the winter but our (the state's) gas bills have gone up about 60% this year for some silly reason - I don't know what.
My internet is being sluggish, but I think it is my computer, since the work one is behaving. I hope I don't lose phone. OTOH, I can see Ben's network, so if it came to that, I'd go asking if I could use it too.
I can't enter time into my timecard because the server is fucked up.
I had something cheery, but I lost the thought. It's snowing.
Oh, I remember now: work is officially closed tomorrow. Whee! So I can clean and visit and shovel. Um.
ita - I have Vernors and am thinking of you.
Classes canceled tomorrow. I wonder if we'll have classes at all this week.
Aims! I put a package in the mail to you today! Just FYI.
I was off work a full week in January 96, and I don't think that was as much snow as you all have already gotten.
Felicia Day Light Saber Fight
I thought Felicia Day couldn't get any hotter, and then she wielded a lightsaber.
I stumbled across this by accident. It's exactly what it sounds like, but the video is lame overall.
I thought it was pretty funny.
"How does [a lightsaber] work, but there's no Force?"
"This is post-production!"
I GETS A PACKAGE! I GETS A PACKAGE!
I just had some caesar salad. I think that's the last of my fresh produce.
