When we lived in the 1850 Grecian revival house, it cost us $3000 to heat and power (mostly heat) it from December to March. And we tried hard. EVERY window (all original) was shrink-wrapped and the thermostat was kept at 65 durung the day and 58 at night and we each had about 7 billion blankets on our bed.
Our electric/gas here runs about $200 in the winter but our (the state's) gas bills have gone up about 60% this year for some silly reason - I don't know what.
My internet is being sluggish, but I think it is my computer, since the work one is behaving. I hope I don't lose phone. OTOH, I can see Ben's network, so if it came to that, I'd go asking if I could use it too.
