Because books.

I don't even know where the Facebook games are. I should figure that out. I also need to find Syzygy, apparently.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My seven letter word across two double word scores was SMEGMAS.

Merry Smegmas! It's a Smegmas miracle!

My boss has checked out of this job mentally, it is not even funny.

Is he/she leaving for another job?

I'm Sue at regular Scrabble but better at speed Scrabble, because I don't get caught up in wanting to make fancy words. I get stuck on something in regular, and then someone does something to foil my brilliant plan, and I have no back-up. Terrible at backgammon. I'm good at cards, though. I want to learn bridge. I'm good at the play, but I've never learned the bidding very well, which kind of kills it.

Oh, I am so cranky about this snow. Not even funny. Plus, I think I was careless shovelling yesterday, and now my mid-back kind of hurts, so shovelling out from this next round might be tricky. Blergh. I just want to hibernate until spring. Who's with me? Anyone? God, I wish I could.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Facebook Scrabble, anyone?

Bring it on.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Basically the way Syzygy goes is everyone gets 9 tiles and the rest are in a pile in the middle of the table. When the game starts you flip over your tiles and build a crossword (following standard Scrabble rules). You can rearrange your tiles and build a new crossword at any time in the game - you're not stuck with the first set of words you come up with. When you have no more tiles in front of you, you shout "DRAW!" and everyone picks a tile. Repeat until there are no tiles left to draw. The first person to use up their last tile yells "STOP!" and then everyone adds up their score minus the leftover tiles (again, just like Scrabble).

There's also a word that counts triple in every round. For the first round the word is always "syzygy" and after that the person with the highest score gets to pick whatever word they want (before the next round starts).

It's seriously fun.

Made it in, not too bad. Will be leaving early, though....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, that sounds like Banangrams, except it's just win/don't win in Banangrams (no tile values, etc.). I now have the game, but need people to play with!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Facebook Scrabble, anyone?

Jessica, for the love of all that's holy, YES. I might take a couple of days if I get swarmed with work, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE FB Scrabble.

My speed Scrabble=Jessica's Syzygy, except without the triple word every round. But I think I will introduce that next time. Fun!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

JenP - I am pretty sure he is starting a company with some other people from the company. My guess is they would not leave until May, but he is really only focused on whatever that is.

I left my desk in a mess on Friday.
