I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

I have admin leave tomorrow. Not clear on whether I can take it what with ability to telecommute, but I HAVE to take it because I'll be shoveling again all day.

My boots and socks and liners from today are all roasting on the radiators. I now love radiators. I had such trepidation about them, but now? So much better than forced air. Less static, warm clothes or blankets by laying them over the beasts. It's noisy as heck, and slower, but much more consistent.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Many of the solutions were person specific and I could easily see backlash from employees in similar situations who were not highlighted.

Yeah, I had simlilar thoughts when he immediately tried to set in motion something to help the one chick who was losing her house. Okay, great for her, but... But I think going on the route with the trash collector was more of a systemic revelation, so maybe. And hell, the time clock thing alone could be a big life improvement for some people.

What does admin leave mean?

Means work is closed, no staff on site. I get paid, I don't have to charge it to vacation or sick or anything. Just 0 hours, full 8 hour pay.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I just looked up Drew Brees' bio. He's like the Mary Sue of quarterbacks.

Look up Fujita - there are a couple of Mary Sues on that team. I mean that in a good way. And I think the coach my be one too.

Seriously - I couldn't be happier at a Super Bowl outcome. If it had been the Pats instead of the Colts, I'd be happy that the Saints won, and that's something I thought I'd never say.

Of course, I never get tired of seeing Peyton Manning making that face when things go wrong. So that's a gift with purchase.

Oh wow. 3 city parking garages have gone free, first come first served.

Okay, so not like liberal leave. I'd take it as a day off, barring emergencies. Especially with the one you already stepped up for this weekend.

God, I could use a massage. And I say that having never had a professional one. I ache. Thank god for the swimming because I'd be in so much worse shape if I weren't in the shape I am now. I'm seriously stronger than I was this summer.

Okay, you need to do something about that.

Ooh, I have a Groupon for a massage at the pricy place in the lobby of my building. Should do something about that too.

I totally am using saturday as bargaining chip. They really haven't fleshed out the policy on admin leave for telecommuting. On friday, when admin leave started at 1 pm, they excluded telecommuters from taking it. But they haven't stated what happens on full day admin days. Technically, I should be off the hook, since I don't have a telework agreement, we just fudged friday, calling it an emergency. But I will monitor, as much as I am able.
