Really? The grandmother in A Good Man is Hard to Find is a great example of someone who wants to appear like a "good Christian" despite not actually acting like one. Pretty salient these days.
Yeah, but that's almost a tossed off bit of irony on Flannery's part, barely more than an arched eyebrow. The story is about grace.
And yet, it's possible to have more than one take on any given piece of literature. Aren't fully separate brains AMAZING things?
You know, I don't really need a clusterfuck at work happening at 4:30 on a friday when just about everyone is out.
Just popping by to say that the Oscars are doing preferential voting this year:
But what may affect who takes home the statuette is the new and complicated voting procedure instituted to deal with the extra nominees. Instead of simply listing a single top film, the Academy’s roughly 6,000 members are now required to rank them in order of preference; a result is that a film that heavily figures in the No. 2 or No. 3 spots might best one with a sprinkling of votes in No. 1 — and conversely, it means that it’s important for a film to be picked for No. 2 and No. 3. (That is, unless a film has 50 percent plus 1 of the No. 1 votes, which constitutes a winning majority.)
Does this mean Australia has won?
I'm currently trying to instigate a minor fight that pretty clearly says I don't think someone else is doing their job right. We'll see how that goes.
Does this mean Australia has won?
Australia was released in 2008, not 2009. It wasn't a very good movie, and didn't win any Oscars. It did get a nomination for costume design, though.
Tom is funny.
I want this house: [link]
Snowpocalypsegeddon is well underway here in C'ville. I'm going back to bed to hibernate.
I am officially off the clock now.
Only an inch out there so far (I so coulda gone to work!) but it is a heavy wet inch.
