That is the thing with liquor -- even the most overpriced is so much cheaper in a store than in a bar, it's easily justified.

Do they have Oban at your TJs or Costco? It might be cheaper at either of those places.

Exactly. What Hec, JZ and Megan and I threw back on Friday night was pennies compared to what it would have cost to have those drinks in a bar.
And I remember going out with Megan to a show in SF and ordering G&Ts and both of us sat there with "this was $10?" looks on our faces with our noses scrunched up in disgust.
I don't have a Costco membership anymore. I just realised there's one near where I work, but I'm not sure if it's worth rejoining up. TJ's, though, I'll have a look.

It was $25! A GG gimlet is, like, half that. Yipes.
Buy cheaper vodka and run it through a brita.
But why bother? Brita isn't free.
I have no idea how much the vodka I currently have cost. If I had no vodka I wouldn't have hesitated to buy the GG. But I should be going wide with my liquor cabinet, not deep. It's all rum right now.
All you people with your loose liquor laws and your comparison shopping abilities. We have already established that I hate you for it, right?

I didn't realize WA was a controlled state! Steve and I are trying to figure out how much wine I am legally allowed to bring to him in MA.
Man, I swear Scotch prices have jumped. I was at the booze store yesterday, and Oban at inflated WA prices (California, you are lucky) was almost $70. It used to be our $50 staple.
I remember when Oban was one of the cheaper scotches, around $35. Then scotch became popular worldwide and prices when up and up. I think the last time I bought it here, I forked over $85. That was when there was a shortage and It wasn't always in stock.
