The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have a migraine so bad (coming up on 48 hours) that all I can do is put a pillow over my head and cry. I really dislike the human body's frailty.

Ugh. Poor Teppy.

Because books.

Look how cool these tea"bags" are! I think some of them are still in the prototype stage, though.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, Steph.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dilaudid!

Actually, I don't know what casual sufferers of severe migraines are even supposed to do. Realising that ERs treated them was a revelation for me, but it's a hell of a psychological investment to make.

You know all the drugs, and you know that triptans aren't very effective this late on in the game. I wish I had something more useful to suggest--all I can offer is my utter, utter sympathy and internet-wafted butorphanol.

Steph, is there something you can take to knock you out and maybe sleep some of it off, or at least sleep through it?

I say that as someone who's had maybe two or three migraines ever, though, so if it's completely impossible, I'm sorry!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You know all the drugs, and you know that triptans aren't very effective this late on in the game.

I don't think my doctor will let me take triptans (for future migraines, that is; I know if you don't take them right away, there's no point in taking them, so even if I had some, they wouldn't do anything right now) -- they have those massive warnings about cardiac side effects, and I have several giant red flags in the cardiovascular disease category.

Which leaves...not much. I don't get them often enough to warrant taking preventive meds. And what I take now (Midrin) is a fucking joke. It hasn't done anything.

Grah. Bitching about it is useless; I just hate not being able to even dial it down.

I gotta go call work. I was hoping to make it in for even half a day, but there is no way.

I've never taken Ambien during the day, though I don't see why I couldn't. Maybe that's my best option.

(Taking squirreled away percocet? Doesn't help, either. This fucker doesn't want to budge.)

Because books.

If the percoset doesn't touch it, I don't know what else to suggest. I'm so sorry.

Ugh. Double ugh.

I don't know--I know for me, if triptans won't do it and butorphanol's not playing, I only have IV drugs left.

Always take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone.)

* Do not get on an elevator if your instincts tell you that something is wrong (Remember, bad men don’t always look bad).

Women are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT, it may get you raped, or killed.
