I do think it's laughable that they suggest Vanity Fair could have picked Gabby Sidibe for this cover.

I snorted out loud with that suggestion. Not going to happen. Zoe Saldana or Freida Pinto I could see. But even someone like Lea Michelle couldn't have made the cover, she's too tan.

Heh. "Ethnic"!! I would think Saldana would be perfect for "diversity"....
It's diverse! They have a redhead and brunettes. Sheesh.

I have determined that carrying a baby in a sling is not very comfortable when you are also six months pregnant.
(That said, this sling is pretty fucking fantastic and I may have to steal it. And hey, the baby's asleep and not crying anymore, so I'ma count this a win even if I do feel like I'm carrying triplets.)
And someone in the comments asked why Zoe would be considered "up and coming"? I'm like, are you kidding me? She was only in two of the biggest blockbusters there were, last year. I should know to just never read the comments on any online article.
I'm always puzzled by the word "ethnic." I once went to see "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" with a friend. After the movie, I said I thought it was funny. My friend said she didn't really like it, "but you can probably relate to the characters better, since you're from an ethnic family."
Aren't we all of one ethnicity or another? Or multiple? I am puzzled by its use as a stand-alone descriptor, as well.
ETA: Just looked up the meaning of "ethnic" and it appears my ethnicity is "Buffista".
I will say the photo is pretty stunning in its lack of any color at all, but pale white. I suppose at least they aren't encouraging skin cancer?
