I said I'm sorry. I've made mistakes, but fear was never one of them.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Everything's better with evil.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I used to walk almost a mile (.8 of a mile) each way to junior high in Hartford, usually kind of with my sister ("kind of" because we usually didn't like walking together, but we had to, so there was lots of distance.)

When I was in elementary school, I used to take the city bus down New Britain Avenue to my school in West Hartford. Also by myself/with my sister,

Also, when I came home, my parents generally weren't home. I would often watch TV and then get yelled at a lot for not cleaning the kitchen or some such.

Also, in the afternoon/evenings, we would be shoo'd outside to play until dinnertime- we'd generally roam around the neighborhood as we pleased, for hours.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I believe you misspelled "poor people" there, smonster.

Point taken, but simple aquatic life will show issues before people. Canary in the coal mine and all that.

I have been in bed with the flu for 3 days. Thought I was better, but after taking a shower I am feeling sick again. Ready for this to be over now.

Oh, and ita, remember how we were talking about contractors not being able to work from home? I went in Monday sick to take care of a spreadsheet that had to be done for a 10am meeting.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I went in Monday sick to take care of a spreadsheet that had to be done for a 10am meeting.

See, we shouldn't do that. It's just not sensical. There should be a "well, it sucks, but so-and-so's health was more important than the work product."

But I totally get you, and I'm sorry you schlepped in unwell.

brillig

If Pete starts hearing "oooh, Appalacia is SO GOTH! We MUST GO! I can have a CASTLE on a MOUNTAIN and the old mine beneath is where I'll keep my gilded cages of pretty people. And My Chem can have a practice space there because its like the Batcave." he's going to kill me.

I would rest easier knowing Pete was keeping a benevolent, looming eye on my old neighborhood.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Jilli and Cass could be a team of crack investigators... skulking around at night... finding little gothlings to help them break in to locked places with wee openings... and then SETTING WATER ON FIRE.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

WRT to the school drop off discussion: I drive Franny to school because her school is over 2 miles from our house. There's no school bus for non-resident students like herself, and she can't walk there, driving seems like our only option. That said I do realize Allyson's point was more the annoyance of parents driving high schoolers, who should be capable enough to take the bus all by themselves.

This was us, as well. I've mentioned before about our call home was my dad stepping out of the front door and whistling, which we could hear for a three block radius of the house, including all the way to the park. Dad was the only one who did that whistle in the neighborhood, so we knew it was dinnertime.

I totally would have just let it go, but there's a newish process we've developed to make sure all requests have a go live date, and I think I'm the only one who gets cc'd on everything. Therefore, if I don't do the sheet, something is likely to get missed.

But hey, their network is protected, even if my health isn't.
