she's Taylor Swift...girls like that always get another moment
Imma gonna have to tag you on that, Erika.

And, to be fair, the smacker in the video is female.
True. There's arguably some kind of subversion going on, but then woman-on-woman violence is no joke either. Never stopped them from playing it every week at my local lesbian bar.
Smack My Bitch Up has one of the most undeniable beats/hooks EVER. Proof being that I hate hate hate overly repetitive songs (Usher and JT, I'm looking at y'all) but it doesn't even ping me in that song.
Am I the only one disturbed by this thing's resemblance to Catherine Tate?
Am I bovvered? Yes.
Re: Janet Jackson, back when amyth and I were all up in the acafan shit, I was going to write a paper called "I'ma have you naked by the end of this song: Janet Jackson, a victim blamed."
I have no doubt that Kanye's race, age and music genre comparative to Taylor Swift's all factor into the hullaballoo.

BWAH!
"I'ma have you naked by the end of this song: Janet Jackson, a victim blamed."
That is genius.
"I'ma have you naked by the end of this song: Janet Jackson, a victim blamed."
I would read the hell out of that.
re: Pink's performance last night: she's so damn awesome. And that song is guaranteed to make me cry every damn time. I am such a sucker.

It's pretty catchy! I like the Fatboy Slim remix as well.

Really? Huh. I never saw it like that. I just saw Kanye being Kanye.

In the reaction?
Well, most of the reaction I saw was the hilarious meme, so I don't know what you're referring to.
If he's a dick to Jay-Z or someone else adult/black/male, it's not even a story. Much less a Whole Thing.
then woman-on-woman violence is no joke either
Violence, period. It's not like it had me standing up and cheering, nor would I have if it had been a woman beating a man. Just that it's not a feminist issue, exactly, if it's not...or maybe it's still a feminist issue if it's a woman being beaten--it's just a different issue.
That having been said, it's a great song to hit shit to.
And that having been said, the Usher and JT I like, I really really like. But I don't have an extensive knowledge of either of their repertoires.
Not to confuse it with the JJ/JT debacle, but I think what Kanye did was, as my mother would say, showing his underpinnings outta doors. I think he deserves pretty much all the mocking and censure he gets. He's a cloddish buffoon, and I laugh that he yammered himself out of a Grammy invite. I just don't think that Taylor Swift deserves that much sympathy. She wasn't scarred.
I wish I could click on that Catherine Tate-ish link.
