That's kind of awesome.
Yeah. I mean, I dig Gwen on her own merits, but that's funny.
Matilda's favorite, though, is probably Goldfrapp. She refers to "Twist" as "the train song" - you'd have to see the video. It has a lot of fairly rude sexual imagery which goes right by her. I might have to censor it when she's 10.

But then what does she call "Train"?
But then what does she call "Train"?
She hasn't seen that one yet.
Her requests are like this: "I want the happy Pink song. I want the sad Pink. I want the Other Pink. I want the Noodle sad song ("Feel Good, Inc." by Gorillaz). I want Noodle dancing ("Dare" - Gorillaz.) I want the song where they throw paper balls at the bad boy ("16 Military Wives" - Decemberists).
Has she seen Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" video? I wonder what she'd call that....
Well, she has good taste.
Much more developed than Emeline's taste these days. Joe played her Aqua's "Barbie Girl" and now that's all she wants. When she gets it, she dances her Barbie's on the kitchen table.

Does that ping your feminist sensibilities? (I'm not familiar with that song.)
No. I've come to realize I don't have any. Besides, hard to yell about a song that was on my playlist because I like it.
To get feministically upset about "Barbie Girl" you'd have to take the song more seriously than I think the singers are.
