So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Man, remember our long outage and Zoe invading People's Forum where the old backup site used to be?

That was nucking futz.

(Also, happened while I was on the road trip to the LA F2F, IIRC.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It was both discomfiting and comforting to realise that one of my ex-roommates knew Zoe and she was weird in real life too. So it's not like we were being pranked. That's just how she was.

Then again, my craziest (she lived in the Antarctic to pretend she was on Mars) ex-roommate knew Zoe. Huh.

I've been poking at the web logs, and it appears that we get a steady trickle of traffic from tvtropes.org ALL THE TIME.

Oh. Oops.

More analysis to come. Definitely a light spike in IO9 visitors today, but nothing huge.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Wow, y'all. I just skimmed through 500+ posts because I had to find out what could inspire 500 posts in one day. I thought it must have been Gus, I should have known better. It was the booze stories.

Still, so glad I read it all just to see this:

Cause, Grace? Coming home this May!

WOO!! to the HOO! Go Gracie!

It's gonna be such an amazing change for all of you.

And msbelle, I am so sorry. What a grrrr.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

That was an incredible night of skating.

(Although I'm afraid that Carmen must join "Love Story", Phantom, and "The Impossible Dream" on the "Be Original Already" list.

Yay Grace!

Our wings are not tired.

Yeah, I thought all the performances were great, and the results made sense. Is it just me, or was there a real serenity about the proceedings? The girls and women (since some skaters are not adults) seemed so content with their placings; no Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding or Rosalind/Elaine conflict here (Zayak? Sumners? The last names are escaping me).

It wasn't just you. I'm sure if I lived in Korea or Japan I would have felt more drama. But, it was great just to see everyone do their best. And the top three were all just beautiful skaters. And I'm glad Joannie medaled or I think I would have been crushed.

Nothing beats the battle of the Carmens with Katerina Witt crushing Debi Thomas, which I remember thinking at the time was just punishment for deciding her Carmen should live (@@).

Oh yeah, I remember that, too.
