I hope you don't think that I just come over for the spells and everything. I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.

Librarian Warlord

I would love to get to the bottom of the whole thing.

I have to say, I'm not sure what anyone means by this. Is there some other question (other than why?) that needs answering? Because I don't think he's ever going to answer that question. Gus/Guy Straley was a lying lair who lies, and he continues to be one (apparently).

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

So his name actually was "Guy Straley", or what?

I read that as "Guy Smiley" a couple of times before my brain caught up with my eyes. Which, given all the puppet stuff, is probably appropriate.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Does anyone have the current domain registry info for tvtropes.org? I have a copy from three years ago if anyone is interested....

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

But ita's mom kills mice with her bare hands! And DavidS knows that poker player guy! And Allyson dogsits for Tim Minear! And scrappy dated Jason Alexander!

Lots of buffistas have really interesting lives that they share stories from, but (1) have lots of ordinary everyday minutiae that they also share with the group, and (2) socialize in real life with other folks from the board at least occasionally. Having actually met Lori, Kristen, Deb, etc. I find the degree to which awesome adventurous stuff crops up in their life far more believable than in that of someone I've never met or seen make a post about being out of breakfast cereal.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My inner Trixie B. is also feeling all bloodhoundy.

Also, I call BS on that person's vermouth advice, as in all the years I've been drinking vermouth (hint: MANY), neither the dry nor the sweet have altered flavor appreciably after opening.

I mean, yeah, I suppose they'll eventually go off, but these days, a bottle lasts me a year or two, and I need the fridge space for more important things. Things that really *do* go horribly wrong if not stored chilled.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I feel like "Guy Straley" must anagram to something. Maybe if we add a "Marvolo" in the middle.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I used to get Udon from that Sushi! place

Tokyo Lunch is SO much better.

We got no snow. Well, I saw a few flakes. Tonight we'll get the backhand of the storm, but even that isn't supposed to be much. A couple inches?

The "Gus Raley" on LinkedIn is definitely our guy - he runs "Designs by Gus" and designsbygus@gmail.com is associated with TVTropes.
