Joy, all of the 500 public computers in my building that aren't Macs (we have about 40 of those) have a worm of some kind and are being shut down. I am so glad I am just the librarian and not responsible for all the angry or disconsolate students at midterm time.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was going to be all "who changed??" but I kinda don't recognise myself from early B'crazy. Why so serious? I still hate thread proliferation, though.

Aurelia quoted just the sentence about "Buffy writer Tim Minear" upthread. I'm blown away by how pervasive that is.

I have never watched The Wire, although I understand it's quality. I'm not sure what the hesitance is. I should drop it onto my queue.

Yes, Tom I love the retro fridges. Sadly, not really doable right now. I do need to start looking for a fridge though. Maybe that is how I will spend my time today. Bills be damned.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Did anyone keep a copy of the original version for posterity?

Something struck me in reading that io9 article. Didn't Gus claim to be (in addition to Somali and Irish) a Traveler? The article talks about how the 3 founders (if indeed there were 3 founders) of TVTropes "met at MIT's Russian House, where they were drawn together over their interest in a role-playing game called Traveller."

Huh.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

ita, would it be easy to check the server log to see how many people ended up here from io9?

I do NOT like that there is now a link.

I don't have a copy of WebTrends anymore, but I can peek by hand. Maybe the webhost has a parser.

Oh, look--The Wire is in my queue. At 200-something. Let me bump the first disc higher and see what the noise is about.

I just started watching The Wire. I think I've only made it through 2 discs because of The Busy but I'm enjoying it well enough. It's funny to recognize places. Wonder if season 1 has my old apartment complex in it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I still haven't seen the last season of The Wire, and should really re-watch the whole thing without commercials and with all of season 2 -- I was watching it on BET and most seasons they ran each episode as 1.5 hours instead of cutting stuff out, but they chopped the second season episodes.
