this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You know, all I can do when I hear about undead (zombie?) Gus the Scammy Psuedicide is laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh.

I don't remember the creation of TV Tropes involving any other buffista, certainly not two more who had known Gus for decades, and who were there since Salon. The whole story is false, I'm saying.

Well, YEAH. Kind of like his entire presence here.

Sorry. Done shouting. Why am I still so nettled about it all?

Because of how he lied his ASS off and scammed the shit out of us?

...or maybe that's just me.

Coding and Sleeping

What was the Gus deal? I was here, but I think that happened during one of massive skip times (i.e. during a release cycle).

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Because of how he lied his ASS off and scammed the shit out of us?

Was there a scam? With money?

Sorry; I knew when I typed "scam" that people would think I meant money.

I meant "scam" more in the sense of "big lying faker who lied his ass off." There was no money involved, as far as I know.

Gud, on 12/31/06, a new poster named Kimi posted in Bitches to tell us Gus - a poster of some duration, most active in the Firefly thread - was dead. The saga of what happened next is told in Buraucracy 3: Scrappy "Bureaucracy 3: Oh, so now you want to be part of the SOLUTION?" Jan 1, 2007 12:07:02 am PST

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Normally when I get home from wherever, mine will eventually jump on top of me for skritches within a matter of minutes after I settle onto the couch.

When I come home, my kitty will sit on my lap within seconds of me sitting down. And before I sit down, she gets all impatient with me for wasting valuable lap-sitting time.

Our wings are not tired.

I find the whole to do about women on submarines to be much ado about nothing. Seriously close quarters are going to be an issue for anyone with major modesty issues, but I didn't think that was a gender thing. The whole thing @@

I'm totally traumatised by that article. In so many ways.

Same here, except I was taught to spell it with a z.

brillig

In completely other news, we are TV shopping. We're looking at something hopefully in the 24-inch, $275 or less range. I keep seeing a brand called Haier, which I've never heard of. Does anyone know anything of that one? Or any brands which I should run screaming from?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was taught to spell it with a z.

It would be rude of me to rag on the American educational system, so I'll leave off.

His id is 708. Not WX influx numbers.

He also made a lot of invitations that were never able to be acted upon, so it was never ascertained if he was all (or anything) he said he was. And he painted a very dramatic picture of himself.
