Nah! I loved it there, but I also love the South, for reasons that are hard to 'splain and I'm just sorta left making people watch the opening credits to True Blood, Camino Real and all of Friday Night Lights Clockwork Orange Style while feeding them State Fair food and the full menu from Verne's.
Ahaha! Except I hate the credits for True Blood.
From Dan Savage:
Um....
A bill passed by the Utah House and Senate this week and waiting for the governor's signature, will make it a crime for a woman to have a miscarriage.... In addition to criminalizing an intentional attempt to induce a miscarriage or abortion, the bill also creates a standard that could make women legally responsible for miscarriages caused by "reckless" behavior. Using the legal standard of "reckless behavior" all a district attorney needs to show is that a woman behaved in a manner that is thought to cause miscarriage, even if she didn't intend to lose the pregnancy.
When Miscarriages Are a Crime...
yeah, megan, don't cry; she said my lemons, not me. :P
Well, they are good lemons.
smonster, I'm not a fan of the show, but those credits remind me an awful lot of mid to north west Louisiana.
Trust met
A bill passed by the Utah House and Senate this week and waiting for the governor's signature
is a phrase that brings many a shiver to the hearts of Utahns.
That link makes me sick to my stomach. My miscarriage last year was ~16 wks. I did not know I was pregnant (I have wild fluctuations in my cycle-My Days right now thinks my next period is 58 days away-I figured fatigue was depression from being out of work and some other stuff), so I didn't know not to drink at our St. Pat's party, or at any other time. I didn't know to avoid whatever things are bad for pregnant women. I had been told that was something I was unlikely to ever have to worry about.
The whole thing was traumatic enough as it was without someone then making me a criminal, or making a criminal out of the people who helped me through it.
msbelle, have you tried the addictive color toy on the Behr paint web site [link] You pick a main color and it keeps offering different color combinations.
Does everyone have dreams as weird as this?
The other morning I dreamed Julia Child was a vampire. Her face was covered with blood and she was saying, "That's lovely."
Thank goodness, Connie. That anyone could get that idea in their heads and think it is anything but insane, chills me to the bone.
Oh DJ, what a horrible thought. What a horrid law.
