I'm always struck by the difference about being a boy of 16 wanting to have an adventure and a girl of 16 wanting to have an adventure
If I could have worked out a way to be on a tall ship at any physically fit age, I would have been all over it. What's the gender difference supposed to be?
I am having a hell of a time getting a visual on what to do for my bedroom. My duvet cover is deep eggplant/plum, throw pillows have a less deep purple and some deep pink accents, others are shades of green (I think I have this one still: [link] my bed is painted a deep green and my other furniture is dark stained oak.
Inspired by ita and my Zoya Ki nail polish, I am wearing a pouffy black dress with bright purple tights today.
It makes me feel very girly, which is distinct from feeling feminine or female.

Back in the 70s, when Hubby and I were 16, a boy had a lot more leeway in hopping a ship and seeing the world than a girl did.
Oh, huh, cause it was a total "aha" phrase for me. Because I really don't/can't do girly on a day to day, but I do love to put it on sometimes (see: prom) and it does feel very much like costuming.
Yeah. I see a big difference between doing that stuff 'cause its fun and doing that stuff out of some sense of... duty.
I generally wear no makeup. I had a co-worker this BUGGED unduely. I told her I didn't like the way it felt .I meant the sense of "need" as much as the tactile but before I could get to that she responded with glee, as if the sun had risen, and her mission in her life had been declared "Oh! That's just because you don't know HOW to apply makeup"
"I got an A in makeup"
Seriously. I
can
do it. I just can't be bothered the bulk of the time.
(Actually, I can't do a liquid eyeliner cat eye and this pains me. Plei tried once and couldn't quite pull it off to her own satisfaction and she's the QUEEN. I think the shape of my eye is just wrong for it.)
t random
Why are there candy corn Hershey kisses? And why are they nummy nummy goodness?
For the same reason there are dark chocolate Reese's cups. To taunt us.

I never let reality get in the way of what I wanted my adventures to be. I never knew a 16 year old boy who would have been any likelier than me to get to hop a ship and see the world anyway. That was a culture and not a gender thing in my world.
People need to stop pronouncing "ACL" as a word. It's distracting to hear ackles talk from over the cube wall.
Ohh, funky tights. Nice call, Perkins.
I think riding boots are sort of classic, Jesse, aren't they?
I guess so? I don't know, I just need new everyday boots, I suddenly realized over the weekend.
What I really need is to DO MY FREAKING WORK. ISTG.
There seems to have been a furry convention in Addison this weekend
I wonder how you go about being paid to make costumes for furries? It seems like it might be lucrative.
