I do feel very female
This is something that I think about a lot, for obvious reasons. And my conclusion is, I have NO idea what being female "feels like." (Which is not a slam on you, Amy; it's more my internal maunderings.)
Performing "feminine," I understand. (As well its corollary, performing "masculine.") But feeling female -- I don't know what that means *for me*.
The Cassini space probe flew by Saturn and took photos of its moon, Mimas. Wait a minute, that's no moon!
Also, when I wear jeans, I am also female, and I'm militant about that. Female is my default state, fighting, coding, sci-fi, comics, everything. The stereotype can go fuck itself.
Sure. That's why I was trying to draw the distinction between being and performing.

It's so interesting, because I'm trying to think why I feel that way, and I'm not coming up with anything that explains it. And there are certainly times when I feel more masculine, although I hesitate to call it "tomboyish" because I associate that with climbing trees and playing kickball and skipping rocks or something, which isn't me.
I'm not sure I have enough caffeine for this yet, though.

That is fantastic! Good job by the bikers as well.
Can I still get riding-ish boots, or will they be out by next year?

Heh. That's me. Once I tried to think about what female "feels like," I came up with....nothing. "Feminine," yes.
Fooking bizarre.
I think riding boots are sort of classic, Jesse, aren't they?
