Does anybody else miss the Mayor? 'I just want to be a big snake.'

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Dana, I present to you the "Single Ladies" dance. In the snow. [link] Crazy peoples in my hometown, I tell you what.

As a Deangirl, her brushoff made me sniff.

It made no sense, honestly. At the very least, she should know that her life expectancy is much higher if she sleeps with Dean instead of Sam!

The Superman video sounded horrifying, but when I actually watched it I have to change my vote to awesome. Mitigating factors for me are that it's the reception rather than the wedding, and the crowd was laughing and cheering. And playing the soundtrack may have put it over the top.

It's not at the same level, but I also liked this story from Topless Robot a little while back [edited for coherence]:

I paid a guy $500 to dress up like Batman (Keaton-style) and hang out at the cocktail hr of my reception. His only instructions: drink and mingle. If he was asked why he was there, he had to reply "I know him; we're friends." Having Batman casually enter a conversation with a beer in hand bringing up "that time with Catwoman" was epic.

I still get stories from guests about him grabbing people's asses.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Re: the Superman thing, it reminds of a funny story I heard last night on Moth Radio: Malcolm Gladwell and some friends sang an extremely misguided song at the wedding of a college classmate.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

What time do you start?

This morning I was here at 6:55. Sigh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Holy giant mantis, Batman! ... We don't have to fight it, do we?

Has anyone else seen a really REALLY big praying mantis? The only ones I'd ever seen were the little normal ones, until this one time, in Kentucky, I went to pump gas and sitting on the pump was a mantis literally as long as my forearm. It looked at me. I mean, it was a big enough creature to see me as another creature, you know? As opposed to part of the landscape. I hope these giant mantises are common in Kentucky, because otherwise, dude, I saw a giant mantis.

(Now that I think of it, a lot of my stories start with "this one time, in Kentucky...".)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I came face to face with a very big mantis in the grass in Ohio and it was discomfiting. As you note, they look at you. Like you're food.

They are totally the great white sharks of their realm.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ha, Strega, that Batman story is pretty great.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This morning I was here at 6:55. Sigh.

Oh, god, you have my sympathy. I wish I could linkspam you.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
