Hubby wants to go to the company holiday dinner. I loathe the things. He thinks I need to be there so management can see me. It's a small company, they already know who I am, and I don't want to do fake schmoozy mingley things. My immediate supervisors like me and I'm track for a promotion. I don't know if it's Hubby wanting to get out the house and eat free food or if he really enjoys these kinds of things, but I hate the idea of going.

Hah. His math teacher already responded. He has a test Wednesday that could raise his grade. Will see what happens.
One comment from her regarding CJ - He is so bright but also very stubborn.
One was responding to an e-mail regarding a test CJ missed when he was sick last week. It is the class he had gotten a bad behavior report in for the 1st quarter, so I added a question about his behavior this quarter.
well, that doesn't count as helicoptering if you're responding to an email that they sent you.
I was asking how he can dig himself out of that hole and end up with the B+ he needs to stay in that class.
Hmm, I'd say borderline. As a teacher, I'd want the student to be asking that question. OTOH, I work with/teach college students, so I have a different level of expectation with students.
Of course, if you were just making an idle comment, and didn't really want me in your business, feel free to ignore :)
No, I am curious Vortex. When K-Bug was going through school, teachers didn't have school e-mail and there wasn't a bunch of contact.
With CJ, every teacher has made a point of providing their school e-mail address. Both these teachers have initiated contact in the past regarding school issues. I just don't want to be come "one of those" parents.
I would never ask those kind of questions to K-Bug's teachers. She is a junior in college and gets to fight her own battles. But I'm just not sure where that line is for CJ as yet. 7th grade? 8th grade? High school?

yeah, that's why I added the caveat about college students. I really don't know. Maybe ask the teacher?
I just bought health insurance -- now I feel like a real grownup. Although it doesn't kick in until 1/1, so I hope I don't get fined! I mean, or sick.
My afternoon snack is totally not up to par.
Defeats the purpose to leave work early only to have to wait around until swim lessons are done to go to the pool...
Do you have to stay long, Connie? Does your DH get much chance to go out and be social?
I am going to DH's . He has to go because he is management. I 'm going because it will make it easier for him.
