And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Though I think even a very well informed person would have a lot of difficulty trying to answer questions about Palin's policy positions since she really doesn't have very many.

That's the biggest difference, IMO. In many cases, the reporter is asking trick questions because Palin herself can't articulate her positions on specific policy issues beyond "I'm a maverick and I hate taxes! Get out of my way government, I like freedom!"

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hearing a self-identified Christian in that video whining that her "rights" are being taken away fills me with rage. CRY MOAR, WRONG PERSON.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Episcopalian?

The priest at the Episcopalian church I sometimes go to didn't even blink when I told her I had "Jesus issues" from growing up in an interfaith household and from some of the "Christians" who are loudest. We also pray for different religions and nominations (and not in that "may they find the light" way). They are lefty, service-oriented, have weekly meditation meetings, etc.

Anyway, could be worth a try.

I think there is a real problem in American politics in that a lot of people are going to vote based on the 'R' or 'D' (Republican and Democrat, and Drive and Reverse) next to he candidate's name rather than on the quality of the candidate and their policy ambitions.

I think I'd have a difficult time voting 'R' for a national office even if the Dems ran a complete idiot, though I suppose I might if the Dem seemed likely to destroy the economy and get us into an unnecessary war. Fortunately the Dems have instead often chosen to run candidates who have absolutely no charisma, but are at least reasonably intelligent.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

They are lefty, service-oriented, have weekly meditation meetings, etc.

See, now that appeals, smonster. But doesn't it vary from church to church? I should find out about the churches in our area.

Oh, about Sarah Palin, does anyone else read Andrew Sullivan's blog? He is obsessed with her. It can get to be a bit much, but he sometimes has good insights.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Though to be fair, I'm not sure the audience at an Obama book signing in 2006 would have done any better.

Well, this link sure isn't flattering to Obama supporters. [link]

I can't decide who makes me cry more - that woman, or the guy who thinks there "won't be enough white people left in America" to vote for Sarah Palin for President.

I'm sure it varies some, but my understanding is that the American Episcopal church is generally welcoming and liberal. My friend is not only getting ordained as a gay priest, he and his hubby are living in student family housing at the seminary. The differences between American and other Episcopal churches in the denomination (African, for sure) is just about causing a schism.

That's pretty cringe-worthy alright.

True, but there are some good questions in there like asking what freedoms are being taken away and such. I do wonder how much cherry picking of responses might be going on though as I always do with this sort of thing.
