Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

good times. I'll just wait until I have mac's new SSC and will do them at the same time. It's not like we have a trip planned or anything.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Congrats on besting the crazy day, msbelle.

I have thoughts on the Stupak amendment, but they usually end with me getting angry so I'm not going there.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Sarah Palin supporters interviewed at book signing.

The level of ignorance on display is somewhat staggering. (Though to be fair, I'm not sure the audience at an Obama book signing in 2006 would have done any better.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I must not have been paying attention because I didn't realize that Woody Allen's estranged son with Mia Farrow, Ronan Farrow was a child prodigy and human rights activist. (Handsome fella, too.)

Punishingly Intricate

Wow, msbelle! What a day!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I have thoughts on the Stupak amendment, but they usually end with me getting angry so I'm not going there.

Same here. I'm living in Angry Central lately anyway (and came thisclose to walking out of Mass on Sunday, and I need to talk to my pastor about it because the rage issues are sliding me into crisis-of-faith territory, which is a very dark, very bad place for me to be).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Sarah Palin supporters interviewed at book signing.

Clearly, I'm feeling masochistic today.

Maybe not. Though I think even a very well informed person would have a lot of difficulty trying to answer questions about Palin's policy positions since she really doesn't have very many.

::hugs::

I've been in a weird spiritual place as well, but it's not a crisis. It's more like I am being confronted with the realization that I'm an oddball in that I'm a believer who has rejected religion. My daughter wants to go to a church, and I want to take her, but I'm not sure which one to go to. Not Catholic (sorry), and found the Unitarian Church not spiritual enough. Episcopalian?

That's the biggest difference, IMO. In many cases, the reporter is asking trick questions because Palin herself can't articulate her positions on specific policy issues beyond "I'm a maverick and I hate taxes! Get out of my way government, I like freedom!"
