My high school was more about alcohol than drugs. I was too straight-edge for any of it (see also: had no real friends!) but the big thing I remember people doing was sneaking Zima into sports events by pouring it into plastic seltzer bottles. Yes, we were that preppy.

I love coming in to discover a serious bug in the software.
OK, time for a meeting now. Joy.
Poll time - now that we're all familiar with whip-its, did *anyone* call them "ethyl cans" back in HS? (is convinced Cory Branan made it up)
I never did whip-its, but I certainly knew of them. Alcohol and pot were the drugs of choice at my HS, AFAIK. I've had E once, and it was lovely, except for the part where I totally overheated, was instantly drenched in sweat (feet slipping in shoes sweaty), and nearly got sick. But that was only about a half hour of the whole night, and even the next day I had a sort of lovely afterglow. Dancing while on E is really that awesome, and that's from somebody gets high on dancing anyway.

They were always whip-its in our school, smonster.
Alcohol was the easiest to get, and thus the most abused, but there was plenty of pot and also a lot of coke in my high school. (Remember, I graduated in 1985.) We were also 25 miles from NYC and had a lot of ways to get our hands on stuff. I actually remember the place next to the McDonald's off Sixth Avenue in the Village where people used to get the whip-its.
The only time I've ever done recreational drugs other than alcohol was when I attended a Grateful Dead concert and got a mild buzz and sore throat from all the secondhand joint smoke.
It did NOT mellow me out, as I recall being ready to throw down with the grinning halfwits who thought it'd be fun to get it on in one of two available stalls when there was a huge line for the men's room.
It's Puppy Friday here! With the world's mmellowest puppy. Four people are trying to play with him and he's sleeping.
Pot was easier to get in my high school than alcohol, for sure.
Whippets were not around my high school at all. Alcohol (legal drinking age back then was 18, so yeah), pot, coke, LSD, and the ever lovely heroin. In HS, all I was personally acquainted with was alcohol. I graduated in '86.
Pot was easier to get in my high school than alcohol, for sure.
If I'd wanted alcohol in high school, I could have just taken it from my parents' liquor cabinet or the fridge. Pot would have required a bit more effort, since (as far as I know) there wasn't any in my house.
I hate everyone.
