Our wings are not tired.

He'd been through so much and it was clear that nothing compared to shingles.

Yep, gramps said it was worse pain than his WW2 shrapnel injury and North Carolinan circa 1925 "home" dentistry combined.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I don't remember silver affecting them. What does it do?

First, we saw Buffy's cross burn a scar into Angel's chest when they hugged.

We also saw Buffy torture a vamp by dropping the cross into the vamp's mouth and holding the mouth closed.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I thought those were the religious symbols, not the silver.

Hmm, it waa a silver cross, so I thought it was the silver that did the burning. Have crosses made of anything else burned?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm pretty sure we've seen wooden crosses have that same effect. I can't think of any examples offhand, though.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Spike got burned by a wood cross after he came back crazy from the soul, and AtS had Angel getting burned by wood crosses in the floor when he was fighting for Darla.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah--it's the crosses not the silver doing the damage in those scenarios.

And Buffy wore silver jewelry all the time, and that cross was the only time we saw it burn Angel.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

There was S7, when crazy!Spike toasted himself draped over a wooden cross (I assume it was wooden, anyway).

Oh, and in Helpless, what was the cross made of that Buffy presented against CrazyPsychoVamp? (That he then grabbed for a quick sizzle.)

Maybe other materials only work on crazy vampires.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My grandfather suffered with post-Shingles pain the last few years of his life; he's the reason I took this job.

Yeah, my father will also be very interested to hear this news.
