Natter 64: Yes, we still need you

good for you, Tom. I'm glad you're having fun.
I, on the other hand, am having a Monday. Been awake since 2:30, when my daughter woke me up to take her to the bathroom. I am so grumpy that I may seriously injure someone today, I just hope it isn't someone I love.
it'd actually be pretty useful if one's boss changed colour with mood.
As the boss of several somebodies, I'd certainly hate it -- I'd always be the color of lazy!
Great, Tom!
My DH just called to say the dog ate something at the dog park and has been vomiting all morning, so as soon as the nanny arrives they are off to the vet. Poor pup. Poor DH.
Go, Tom! The organization that did that speed dating apparently does stuff here, but I don't think I am actually nerdy enough for Nerd Nite -- they usually have evenings with speakers on topics that sounded scary to me.
Lisa, I hope everything is OK....
msbelle, I LOVED the pilot, and then kind of warmed up to the rest of the series over time. Good times.
In news about me, I slept like shit last night -- couldn't fall asleep, had weird anxiety dreams. OK, not so weird -- I have a big deadline on Thursday, and dreamed that it was Wednesday. Oops.
I, on the other hand, am having a Monday.
I, too, am having a Monday. I stand in solidarity with Sparky, because we woke up to find that one of the dogs had diarrhea in the kitchen. (The only upside being that it was on tile, rather than the hardwood floor, or a piece of furniture.)
I'm assuming the day HAS to get better from here.
I couldn't get to sleep, didn't sleep well when I did. I did pass a lot of the time not-sleeping by reading the new Stephen King book, but it wasn't the cause so much as making the wakefulness less torturous....
Thanks everyone. My friend at Hopkins says he has the best kind of case to bring there--odd, so the brainiacs will be spending a lot of time thinking about him.
In other news. I burned the heck out of my left arm pressing my beautiful, cruel french press this morning. I love it but it has got to go now. Ow.
Ouch lisah. Coffee should not be so cruel.
Speaking of, I should go make some.
Oh, awesome -- the other thing I was obsessing about was having said the wrong things in my phone interview the other day. But I got an email asking for an in-person interview! Hooray. The place is kind of logistically awkward (in VW's old neighborhood, actually), but the job sounds really interesting.
Stupid monday.
YAY Jesee.
I have ceased having a Monday, and have started on Tuesday.. It was a net good day, I think -- I gave up on the treatment I was trying to give my GARCH assignment and decided to settle for a much simpler approach. (The approach I was trying to take looks extremely useful, but I don't have anything like the time it'd take to get my head around it.)
Oh, and I've been seeing a personal trainer at the local gym for the last couple of months. Today was the first day I really felt a difference. Very happy about that. (Less happy about the leg raises, but still.)
Of course, I'm still out of work, so my Mondays are bound to be different. Mixed blessing, that. I'll need to search for a new position in earnest once exams are over.
