Thanks everyone. My friend at Hopkins says he has the best kind of case to bring there--odd, so the brainiacs will be spending a lot of time thinking about him.
In other news. I burned the heck out of my left arm pressing my beautiful, cruel french press this morning. I love it but it has got to go now. Ow.
Ouch lisah. Coffee should not be so cruel.
Speaking of, I should go make some.
Oh, awesome -- the other thing I was obsessing about was having said the wrong things in my phone interview the other day. But I got an email asking for an in-person interview! Hooray. The place is kind of logistically awkward (in VW's old neighborhood, actually), but the job sounds really interesting.
I have ceased having a Monday, and have started on Tuesday.. It was a net good day, I think -- I gave up on the treatment I was trying to give my GARCH assignment and decided to settle for a much simpler approach. (The approach I was trying to take looks extremely useful, but I don't have anything like the time it'd take to get my head around it.)
Oh, and I've been seeing a personal trainer at the local gym for the last couple of months. Today was the first day I really felt a difference. Very happy about that. (Less happy about the leg raises, but still.)
Of course, I'm still out of work, so my Mondays are bound to be different. Mixed blessing, that. I'll need to search for a new position in earnest once exams are over.
Definitely a Monday.
But I did just find out that our department is having a "winter happy hour" which is unexpected enough these days, but it's going to be held in Bruce Wayne's penthouse from the last Batman.
Oh man, today is officially Tino-day. We have a lot of whining going on and potty time has been a fail this AM. Also, my nose is extra runny and I've been up off and on since 11:30 PM last night.
it's going to be held in Bruce Wayne's penthouse from the last Batman.
Swanky! Watch out for Two-Face, though.
Monday can more than suck it. The vet is scared my dog may have been poisoned by someone who doesn't like the idea of dogs in this particular park. (It's been an unofficial dog park for more years than anyone can remember, and the current core of dog owners has asked that it be officially okay for us to have our dogs off-leash there in the morning from 6-8 a.m., which has stirred up a few people.)
I'm going to be over here in the corner trying not to scream or cry, willing the phone to ring with good news.
