Before my office's big renovation a few years ago, we had TVs everywhere. Theoretically they were for screening stuff for our clients, but most of the time we just watched the Food Network. We tried to change the channel when Sandra Lee came on, but the thrall of her evil gaze was too horrifying to turn away from.

Their "we're so in love" schtick really drives me bananas. And they have their little cutesy things that are sick making, like "the spice fairy".
See, I've only watched them once or twice and I didn't get too much of the cutesy bits. I guess I lucked out there. However, don't really think I could take a steady diet of them.
Spent all day cooking yesterday. Big pot of stew for the dog. Roasted a turkey. And veggies, veggies, veggies.
I pureed about 20 lbs of pumpkin and am now looking for a crustless (read: gluten free) pumpkin cheesecake recipe for Tday.
Oh, and the beets. Got a great deal on absolutely gorgeous beets the other week. I keep thinking I want to find a recipe for them, but they never seem to make it past the cooked, peeled and popped into my mouth stage.
And a really nice dal with carrots and broccoli and black mustard seeds, which I'd never used before. That dish is going to get better as the days pass, I predict.
Head. EXPLODY.
Oh.
My.
GOD.
REALLY??
And... and... that just sounds NAST.
For the full brunt, you really need to Google "Sandra Lee Kwanzaa cake."
I'd do it myself, but I'm heading out to lunch and don't want to lose my appetite.

I've seen the Kwanzaa cake. That's the one with Corn Nuts, right?

I was thinking about The Shield yesterday and wondering where it should fall on my "Shows I will eventually get around to watching maybe" list.
After Parker Lewis, but before Magnum PI.
The Kwanzaa Kake is truly unbelievable.
No crust. Baby spinach on the bottom, then a bit of onion, then some cheese, then egg mixture
Yes, these are also awesome if you throw an english muffin into the toaster and smoosh it down to fill out the muffin. Instant breakfast sandwich (although since I use a toaster oven, I would throw some cheese on the muffin while it was toasting, but you could just put the cheese in the eggs and skip that step. it works for flavor, but I like the melted cheese texture aspect.) Of course, I have time for that extra step. Otherwise, it's from the freezer to the microwave for 2 minutes on 50% power, english muffin in the toaster. Go brush your teeth or put on your jewelry or whatever. Come back, grab a piece of waxed paper: muffin, egg, muffin, smoosh. Wrap, and out the door.

Hmm. Neither one of those is on the list to begin with.
