this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

ad hoc huevos rancheros using a can of Amy's Veggie chili, corn tortillas, two eggs and a little bit of sharp cheddar.

If you don't have chili, you can substitute refried beans. Muy tasty.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Mac liked ice skating although we only went around twice and that took 20 min. We will go back.

I bought paint samples today. I will be painting all the walls (except maybe kitchen and bath) and want it to be a warm neutral and compliment the wood floors which are a medium honey brown. Samples are: creamy buttermilk, sandy feet, and summer sandcastle - all glidden colors. Corm silk eliminated for being too yellow.

Catching up - love honey, need to eat it more often- I have clovern tupelo and wildflower. Sad to admit that I all too often let it crystallize. I love honey on waffles.

I thought agave was low glycemic.

Because books.

I had golden syrup for the first time at Plei's house, and it was delicious. Agave, too, I think.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am so excited for Grace's outing! I love her lack of enthusiasm for the apple. Hee! Yay for Gracie opinions!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Opinions are one of the things that I have always YAY'ed about Gracie. I'm so glad she's gotten stronger and stronger and better able to impose them on the world!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I thought agave was low glycemic.

It's certainly marketed that way.

Okay, two loads of laundry in, and that's all the detergent I have. So I can cross that off my list for now. I'll leave cutting my hair until laundry's done.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That archer story about the two-finger salute isn't true, apparently. I just heard about that on the radio recently! But they referred to Snopes. Maybe here: [link]

For dinner, I had chicken with mango and lime, roasted sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, and a delicious cranberry ginger trifle for dessert. Thanks, mom!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Not a problem with gylcemic index perse, but rather the same problem you have with high fructrose corn syrup:

[link]

The basic problem with high fructose corn syrup is the fructose itself. The body processes fructose more slowly than regular table sugar.

In the liver, the body turns fructose into fat rather than burning it for energy. Flavin comments, "And so you start developing what they call fatty liver. Now fatty liver can start also changing into a less effective liver that's not functioning properly."

A fatty liver encourages weight gain. In addition, Flavin says fructose compounds obesity by increasing hunger, "So you do eat more. And then you have a greater appetite because your body's saying, 'I haven't had enough.' And your body is being fooled by a whole chemical imbalance."

Sinatra, the cardiologist, says in that same process, insulin, the body's sugar manager goes haywire, "High fructose corn syrup is very sweet. It elicits an insulin response, and remember insulin is the number one risk factor for cardiovascular disease."

Agave syrup, like High Fructose Corn Syrup is high fructose. So it has a lower glycemic index but has both short and long term effects that are a risk factor for diabetes, obesity and other problems. Unlike HFCS mercury and weird enzymes are not required for productions, but still not best thing in the world for you.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hmm, lemme see what I mean. Oh, wait, xpost w/ Typo.

Anyway, what I was trying to say was that it tastes unexpectedly sweet. Like, it tastes much sweeter than an equivalent amount of syrup or sugar.
