Kathy A, that's exciting news. I know several people who have been happy with their outcomes.
Seska, I know not of various martial arts and what would work best with what abilities and disses... but I do know that my Mixed Martial Arts school does an adaptive program with the local UCP. I can't find the video, but at one point a guy launches off his walker, drops to the mat and starts grappling, really whaling on his opponent... On a less flashy level, I had a classmate missing a lot of pectoral muscle from breast cancer surgery and our instructors would help her find alternate approaches for various exercises. The fact that there were big thick mats everywhere certainly made it safer for them to push their physical limits and get stronger.
Anyway, maybe you'd have better luck looking for local schools that do adaptive programs rather than a form that adapts.
ION, pictures of a goat standing on a Ferrari.
shrift, if you figure it out, please share the knowlege. I just had three people from the same company call asking for the same information ... and one called twice because she wrote the information in an e-mail message and then, rather than sending it, deleted it.
I was getting ready to go to bed, and found out that Claude Lévi-Strauss passed away. [link]
RIP, man. You're the main reason for post-structuralism, and for that alone...

Now that sounds like fun.

I've been looking, but not getting anywhere. (You'd think a city the size of London would have adapted martial arts somewhere. Will keep looking.)

Oh, what a shame. (Although I see he was 100. Not at all bad.) He had some fab ideas.
Seska, maybe one of these guys can help hook you up even if they don't have an affiliate right in London: [link]
Looks like a guy named Terry Taylor was the big dog in UK martial arts for the disabled and he passed away. This tribute page has some links that might lead to something. [link]
I'm seeing a lot of Self Defense for the disabled. Maybe you could find a school via one of those workshops.
Hey, msbelle, did you tell Mac about Derartu Tulu?
Timelies all!
Went to see Springsteen at the Verizon Center last night. Great show, but I ended up getting less than 6 hours of sleep last night. Bleah.
Has anyone ever seen elevator advertising? These are kinda cool.
Go top hat, choose top hat!
It is my "I finished the semester" reward. So I'm not getting it yet. (Can we integrate gothwear with Anya quotes more often? Because it gives me a happy.)
True Story: When I went to buy Gothic Charm School the other day, I also picked up the new Interweave Crochet. Cashier asked me if I planned to crochet gothwear. I said, "I just might!" (This kind of makes me want to revive my blog series on goth crochet. Though, is it a series, if it's only two entries?)
And with that, I go back to student life.
