Just caught up with
9
on DVD - it's joining Wall-E on my list of movies that really would have been better as silent films. (The original
9
short was dialogue free and WOW so much better!) The visuals are still pretty spectacular, but the exposition kind of made my ears bleed.
(Both 9 and Wall-E also joining
2001
on list of movies where round robots with glowing red eyes turn out evil, or at least pragmatic to a fault and to the detriment of human life.)
Good advice for the 2010: Never trust a round robot.
So why has the Droid phone been advertised with a glowing red HAL eye background?
Sort of a "we have cookies" thing?

Open the pod bay door email account, Hal.
The
9
short was better story telling, but I liked the movie for its own sake.
I'll take Gladiator in tights. I like Robin grim.
Owen just gave me his first spoiler! We rented G-Force for the kids. They went with a friend to see it in the theatre, but wanted to see it again. When Speckle gets crushed in the garbage truck, Owen looked at me and said, "He's going to die in the garbage truck and then he becomes the bad guy!" So I checked the plot on Wikipedia and it does, in fact, reveal that the star-nosed mole is actually the evil mastermind behind the plot to destroy humanity. *sniff* I'm so proud.
9
! That was what I wanted to add to my queue, now that I have one.
I'm also catching up with
Bolt
which has me going
"Puppy!"
