Oh, thank you! I didn't find the page it was used on, just saw the ew domain.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Why is my local theatre not selling ST tickets for Saturday yet??? This doesn't warrant advance advance sales? Sheeit. I keep getting excited and then clitblocked.
Fandango just sent me an email saying that ST tickets are on sale for our AMC theater. (Don't know about non-AMC theaters.)
I can buy tickets for Thursday, but nothing after the midnight showing. I do like like me some Trek, but it's not Batman, so relax, JJ.
I think I'm going to a Thursday showing in 3D. Don't know if I'll be able to get advance tickets, so I hope it doesn't sell out. I've never seen that theater completely full, though, so I think I'll be okay.
I just bought advance tickets for a midnight showing of STID on Wednesday. Not 3D.
STID looks like it ought to mean a venereal disease.
Hey, they've gotta keep some elements of Kirk's characterization from the original series...
I feel like I may have used up my moviegoing luck this spring by having IM3 turn out to be so much better than I expected. Between that and J.J. Abrams, my enthusiasm for Trek is fairly muted.
May has three opening weekends for me: IM3, ST:2, and F&F6. Look, there's arithmetic!
Hey, they've gotta keep some elements of Kirk's characterization from the original series...
He's brash, reckless, sneaky, ridiculously lucky, a womanizer, a rule-breaker, a fast thinker, kind of a bully but not hateful about it, a lot smarter than he lets on, a lot kinder than he seems at first; he has a good sense of humor even when the joke's on him; he has a sort of optimistic resignation to uncaring fate; he inspires people with loyalty even when they don't really know why; he's got pretty good aim but he's not as good a fighter as he thinks he is, he doesn't always walk away when he ought to, and he gets beat up a lot.
Yeah...that's Kirk.
I guess the fact that I like nuKirk better than the original version could be a strike against the movie, but I'm not upset about it.
I can see pretty simply that this guy becomes that guy, but as long as we hang for a while in pre-irritating territory, I'm happier.
