I missed that one... and dammit, too busy at work this afternoon to run home and pop in my DVD to see how I could have missed it!

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
The Ender's Game trailer is out:
Hopefully they haven't frelled up the ending quite as badly as the trailer makes it look...
I guess it could be a woman, but really points are primarily deducted for looking nothing like the actor, not for being a different gender: [link] Check those delts.
J-Lo's male stuntdouble is pretty slick, after all.
RIP Ray Harryhausen.
Did they name a restaurant in Monster's Inc. after him?
They did, it was *the* place to be.
Nice. I thought the name sounded really familiar.
I'm going to hope that trailer for Enders Game was awful because there's no way a trailer could sell the actual movie. Which will be as good as the book. Even though the good parts of the boom are all quiet and psychological and require limited special effects or explosions.
This movie is going to suck isn't it?
If you expect it to suck, you might be surprised. If you expect it to be good, you will almost certainly be let down.
This is a specific example of the best general argument that can be made for pessimism.
Even though the good parts of the boom are all quiet and psychological and require limited special effects or explosions.
I don't know if I agree with that. Some nice character-revealing fight scenes, as I recall.
But that trailer looks like it is made of wrongness. Though perhaps it is just all out of context.
