Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So many months ago, a friend of my cousin's told me that my aunt was pro-Prop 8 (anti gay marriage). Aunt has always been loving and sweet to me and DW, so I was a little surprised. Didn't take it too much to heart as she is in her 60s, from a different generation, and I knew she was Republican. Fast forward to today - my cousin told my aunt and now my aunt is all torn up about it. I'm like, "Why should she be? It's her view, right?" Get some bs about how it's different for me and DW, we're family. Whatever - you can't pick and choose who gets civil rights. Now Aunt is probably going to call or write me about it. You know, I don't really want an awkward discussion and I'm not going to tell you it's all okay and don't worry about it. I hate this kind of shit.
I suppose you can't write back, "I can't understand how you expect me to be "polite" about this. Either change your mind or drop the subject."?
Good one, Trudes. I was also considering, "If your views embarrass you, maybe you need to rethink them."
Oooh! That's classy!
I've found "either change or shut up" (in its various forms) to be very effective in improving the quality of my life.
{{{Suzi}}} Lots of ~ma for you and your family.
"If your views embarrass you, maybe you need to rethink them."
I like this.

NATLBSB.
"If your views embarrass you, maybe you need to rethink them."
Brilliant. Not mean, but to the point, and puts the responsibility on her.
