Nora, I 'walked' my undergrad commencement with an empty diploma case due to an incomplete I took to care for my injured husband. The uni was very nice about it and the event wasn't tarnished at all.
In truth, I didn't know it was possible until my beloved adviser hipped me to it.
Couldn't hurt to ask if this is a possibility.

Well, I got in a few hours of work, then the pain was too bad. I just took some tramadol. I'll see what this does.
bonny, I asked the Assistant Dean if I could walk, but I can't. She strongly encouraged me to walk next year though.
I am, oddly, in such a great mood right now. Like letting that go means I can honestly feel happy and relieved for everything I *did* do. Also, dealing with people at school while in this mode has been so pleasant and I feel quite supported.
